For items not located in the Otonabee - South Monaghan Public Library, our interlibrary loan service will try to obtain the material from another library. Through our interlibrary loan service, you have access to millions of books!
This process can take up 4 weeks on average due to items are sent via the mail. This is a free service to our patrons although, in a very few cases, a fee could be involved. The patron will be notified of this possibility before the item is ordered. There is a limit of three requests at one time. Patrons will be notified by phone or e-mail when the material arrives. Loan periods will vary depending on the source library. Please Note: Interlibrary loans for audio-visual materials such as videos, CDs, DVDs and recorded books may be restricted as the lending library may choose not to send us this type of material. Material under 6 months old may be requested as an interlibrary loan; however, it may not be supplied by the lending library. We welcome suggestions for purchases. If a book is damaged or lost, the patron will be charged the rate of replacement as per the lending library's policy. Inter loan privileges can be limited or revoked at our discretion. |
